Bear is Back

And he's as crazy as ever. The new season kicked off Wednesday, and I finally got a chance to watch it on my TiVo.

In the season prermiere, we find Bear trekking across the barren desert of Northern Mexico.

As always, our host finds a rotting tree and decides to eat the lovely creepy crawlies lurking inside of it.

In a somewhat uncharacteristic move, Bear conservatively goes for honeycomb in a cave.

At first glance, you'd think this was way too easy. Wait. No bugs? No raw chews into rotting animals? Is this Dora the Explorer?

And then conventional wisdom rears its truthful head when we learn that the honey came with a price. And by price, I mean being stung near the eyes.

Channeling his inner most Quasimodo. Or is it Sloth?

Not to be outdone, Bear still manages to find time to behead and eat a rattler. "Forget that I can't see, let's kill this diamondback", he's probably thinking. Save the skin, Bear. It might be useful later.

Now let's see...

-Eating larvae out of a rotting log? Check.

-Building a shelter and keeping warm throughout the frigid night? Check.

-Overcoming adversity by escaping death via some sort of unforeseeable danger? Check.

Well, that leaves us only with...

-Jumping carelessly into a sand pit?

Check.

-Urinating into aforementioned snake skin?

Check.

-Drinking said urine?

Check.

And finally, frolicking whilst half naked before the credits are done?

Check and check!

Blimey!

Ladies and gentlemen, my loyal readers, we officially have an episode of Man vs. Wild!

You can pretty much call every move. It's like watching the same episode; some with rain, some with snow, and most in the desert. You'd think I'd be bored by now.

Except it never, ever gets old. BBB- Bear's back, bitch.
