SC x New Era Sale Recap

I think I pressed snooze 8 times this morning. Thanks to Joe for some of these pictures, most of which are stolen from his blog.

Nothing beats the sweet, sweet scent of wool in the morning.

Chubby. Simple. Elegant. So Hot Right Now.

Hors d'oeuvres?

Bum rush.

Saff- If we were a basketball team she'd be the MVP.

$15 bucks here, or you can wait to get it at Urban for $32 plus tax. Your call.

Some paid traditionally...

While others dropped the coin- literally. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Things were going fine up until...

The one...

The only...

Hussein in the Membrane showed up-

-and tried to cut Joe's hair!

Normality resumes as PK aka Paul Kiehn aka TFB enters the building. Pardon his lack of judgment in hat selection; I did. This look is much better, Paul.

Those singles somehow remind me of Paul, and a woman named Jesse.

Lunch break- appropriately named so as Joemm sits on Melvins meal, breaking it.

Burger Basket, home of the creepy skin looking tree.

This...

Is really this...

Behold. The golden, brown obelisk that is our almighty. Minutes later, it will explode in our stomachs, spreading the Good News to our lower intestines.

And hey, we even taught Paul how to read! What an awesome day!

Thirsty Thursdays

In response to Ace's posts about riding abouts in L.A., we've countered with Thirsty Thursdays. Milder than mild, it's a 12-14 mile ride, which includes stops at Yardhouse, random construction sites, and Alberto's Mexican Food.

What's especially sad is that our ride was about 1/16th of what Ace normally would. I'd post one of those cool, snazzy maps he puts on his blog, but honestly is it even worth it? Besides, I don't even know how to do one of those anyway.

Along the way, Malicious Melvin got stuck in train tracks, got hit with a beer can, and managed to scrape his knee pretty bad- all the while riding with a seatpost about a foot too low.

Pre-ride, Bryan's patented double trackstand. Watch out, Tom.

"I think I dropped something."
"No, you just ran over something."

Couple seconds after the fall, it looked liked a leaky faucet...

It was so bad, Joemm could hardly stand to watch. He countered with some 211.

Our best attempt to look tough- but I realize that the toughest thing in this picture is that bulldozer.

The lineup.

Malicious, taking a look at his sand covered, infected scrapeage.

The Miner with his new way on keeping the chain taught throughout.

And finally, it's really not a Malicious Murderous Melvin post unless he's being fed. I'm trying to dig up an old picture of him- stay tuned for that.

Drew/Joemm Party Spectacular

A few things before I start posting pictures...

-it was ridiculously dark in the dance hall, so I apologize for the lack of focus in some of the shots. I also apologize for the bearded, homeless Irishman I haphazardly hired to take pictures for me. That too could have contributed to the some of the unfocused pictures in said hall.

-also, it felt like 'Nam in the hall as well, so I'll place the blame on those foggy, undefrosted pictures on the humidity level inside the building.

-sure, I could have called Joemm to get us out of paying the cover. I could have even told the guy I was Joemm, but how would that explain TJ, Joemm, Ace?

-there is a need (and want) to build a Catholic army. Katholic Killers Klub perhaps? We'll talk names later...

-bartenders were pouring them honest. I mean, my rum and coke ended up being rum on the rocks. I think the soda they were pouring actually had 2:1 rum pre-mixed inside. Kudos to whoever hooked that up.

-breakdancing battles in the foreground of a Jackie Chan movie: priceless.

-quote of the night, "Oh my God. Where the ____ is Tony?"

-you know, now that I think about it, the drunken-style photography explained in the first two bullets pretty much accurately tells the story of the night. Walking around blurry, hazy visions, hot Vietnam weather- yeah! That was exactly it!

-You shouldn't judge a street by its homeless.

Oh, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't hotlink to these pictures! It's gonna overload the server I'm hosting them on, so if you're gonna use 'em, just right-click-save-it.

Good times! Happy birthday guys....more pics update on my Flickr page later this week Stay tuned.
